Shop fall, boho-babes! There are new gifts, decor and jewelry finds to be shopped on Etsy. We can’t wait to see how you style them.
Bombay Mermaid has been invited back to the Greenpointers market for summer! It’s happening Sunday July 19th, and as always, it’ll be full of amazing vendors, free workshops, arts & crafts, a photo booth, and plenty of other reasons to spend a Sunday in the gorgeous Greenpoint Loft space. This market has become something of a seasonal tradition for my family, friends and fellow artists/designers. I can remember the first time I took part in 2011. Since then it’s grown from a cute little craft fair to a legit pop-up of creativity & commerce.
For the first time ever, I’ll be selling original clothing at the market in addition to jewelry and other vintage treasures. Today I sat outside with a cup of tea and finished painting our new wooden sign. Can’t wait to hang it up!
The news of the summer market also reminded me that I never shared photos from the spring market, which was a blast. It was Bombay Mermaid’s most successful market ever, definitely in part to our upgraded technology (the Etsy card reader, which is so rad). Lots of smiling faces and happy customers.

I love seeing how Talia of Talia Studio and The Sister Files interprets Bombay Mermaid. She’s been on the blog before, along with her sister (and my sister-in-law!) rocking our colorful prints and boho-inspired styles. These photos of Talia wearing the pom pom kimono sleeve robe from the Bombay Mermaid 2014 collection are completely amazing. I love the way the sunlight catches in the fabric, and that pop of mint trim looks amazing with her complexion and hair color. Such a beauty!

Here’s a much-delayed video of the Bombay Mermaid Trading Co. Fall 2014 collection, presented during Sisters on the Runway, NYC chapter’s show in Union Square last October. Sisters on the Runway has a new website, which you can check out here.
So excited to post these shots of Mariana Yegros of La Yegros in Bombay Mermaid Trading Co. These photos were shot on the band’s first US tour in September around the streets of Williamsburg by Israeli photographer Ayala Gazit. The team had a blast running around Brooklyn, searching out graffiti and cool spots to capture Mariana’s amazing energy.
With 12 international tours under her belt, she is a force to be reckoned with (and she also went home with a Bombay Mermaid poncho to rock out with on tour). Special thanks to my dear friend and producer Allie Silver for linking us up and making this happen.

This season we’re excited to offer hand-painted, hand-embellished jewelry and gift boxes, inspired by Indian bridal henna and some of our favorite holiday jewel tones. If you’re looking for the perfect gift, or you need a place to stash your international loose change and some favorite jewelry, you’re going to love them.
There are four one of a kind designs, up in the shop right now.
Get one for you, and one for a mermaid you adore…
I’d like to introduce you to two stylish sisters who are very dear to my heart. Becca is my sister-in-law: an amazing mother, artist, creator, and inspiration based in New York. She runs Little Otto Shop (named after my sweet potato nephew), where she sells quirky, gorgeous handmade jewelry and accessories. Becca is always creating and dreaming up new products in the midst of her busy life, and she you’ll never see her in an outfit that’s anything less than brilliant.
Natalia is an incredible professional photographer and gifted story-teller—see her work at TaliaStudio, based in San Diego, California—who juggles being a super-mom (her two little ones are gems, to say the least, destined for a stylish future of their own) with producing dreamy, timeless photos of her clients, and running her business like a champ.

Love these ladies.
We’re so proud to announce that the Sisters on the Runway NYC show raised over 4K for the non profit Safe Horizon this year, which benefits women and children impacted by domestic violence. ▽ BOMBAY MERMAID ▽ Trading Co. opened both shows on Friday and Saturday night. It was great to see familiar faces in the audience and meet some new mermaids too! A special thanks to everyone involved in bringing this collection to life. Here are some backstage snaps from the event.

Runway shots coming soon!
